I am planning on adding flv support to plogger (like on vimeo or youtube), but was wondering if you guys would ever plan on doing that yourselves before I went ahead with it.
It seems like that would be the best way to not lose the simple feel of ploggger, because flv is a very clean way to handle videos. I have no plans on allowing it to show other types of video.
As for creating the flv files, I am looking into ways of doing it in unix, and might try to make it convert files to flv automatically if you upload other types (avi, mpg, etc). Of course, you would need to have more control over your hosting for this to work, so that would need to be optional. Otherwise, the file will need to just start as flv before it gets uploaded.
Does anybody want to work on this with me? In my opinion this would make plogger the slickest video/photo gallery around (its already the slickest plain photo gallery in my opinion). Not bloated, and yet still perfectly feature-filled.
Send me a message on AIM at "dankirsh" if you want to talk about working on it together, assuming the plogger team doesn't have plans of their own.
