Has anyone written a customization that would allow for images to be placed directly into a collection (instead of needing to first create an album). I'd like to be able to place both images and albums at the collection level.
I wanted both - albums and images at any level. It's one of the reasons why I ended up doing a major re-write. It's not that Plogger isn't a nice platform, it's just that it wasn't meeting all my needs.
Yes, I did , but I re-wrote the code from the ground up - including database structure changes. The whole works. Not really a mod.
Basically I went with more of a folder/item paradigm. (Much like a regular file system.) A folder can contain other folders (albums) and/or other items (photos).
yes, please? I think itīs one to many folders to. I just want albums without collection or collection without albums. Itīs so many folders. How do I do?
You can download the latest SVN code which has a quick fix for this. It's not a true dynamic structure (which is planned for a future release), but if you only have 1 collection with albums in it, the default view is of just that collection (so it will show the albums, but not the initial "collections" page).
You can download it here. Just follow the readme instructions if you are upgrading from a previous install or you can do a fresh install if you're just starting out.
Let us know if you have any questions or run into any issues with it so we can get those fixed.
k i downloaded the newest version from the link sidtheduck provided, got it all up and running, and cant seem to figure out how to get just the albums to show up, its still showing the collection so a user would have to click on the main collection in order to get to the albums contained within. I am sure it's something stupid im overlooking, but if you could point me in the correct direction that would be great..
Do you have more than 1 collection with albums in it? If you just have the single collection with albums within that one collection, it should show up as the base view to show only that collection.
I downloaded the latest version (4.0) today -- should that include the fix if I only have one collection (and want it to go straight to displaying albums)? If so, it's not working for me...the single collection still shows up first. Help? I'm on a bit of a deadline...as usual... Thanks!
Wait a minute, just realized that I have version 3.0 (even though it came from the v4 link on the website). I'll try the upgrade from the link you provided and see if that works...
