    I had been searching for a way to remove the filenames from the thumbs and didnt want to replace the filename with the caption, as this was all I could find to do, but I have managed to take the filenames out by deleting In Gallery.php, line 429 or thereabouts:

    $output .= $filename . '<br />';

    and it seems to have worked fine
