Finally tried out Plogger today. Integration, or rather, customized integration really is the toughest thing to do in Plogger. The admin side is really nice, it's easy and intuitive to use, but modifying the frontend output is really a pain in the rear when I really can't code PHP stuff, and even modifying goes over my head most of the time and consist purely of trial and error.
Well, in the end I did manage to get the look about the way I wanted, but now I can't change the order of the images, even when trying to change it from gallery.php. Go figure.
Anyway, you can check what I did @ http://www.tvih.net/webdesign-templates/lucylawless/index.php?page=media-photo
I know, it's lame the "Powered by Blogger" link is gone, but it just didn't fit in properly to the look I wanted. I'm trying to think of a way of getting it to show up at least somewhere on the site at some point so that it doesn't distract. The space for the gallery stuff doesn't really allow any extra stuff since I want to avoid scrolling. The Sort By -button would be nice, but just doesn't fit. Bummer.
Also, if only I could set a maximum height for vertical images :/
I build my frist site http://www.dulezi.com It is for my cousine I build it whit dreamweaver.Becouse i dont know code or php i try to find picture gallery and find plogger .It is great. Just my cousine live in Swiss and when it comes german langue for plogger it will be perfect. So i try to input ploger to this site.It is my fris time to do this so be soft on comments : )
Edit: I did this whit no usin of code : ) becouse i dont know how.I just use dreamweaver in dizajn mode.
Well, the new theme engine would be nice, but it seems I better wait for the actual release, since the current SVN version doesn't seem to work right (adding images does nothing, for example). Although for that site I suppose 2.1 will do fine for now, as it already is configured about how it needs to be.
Take a peek to my photography gallery, based in Plogger, but a strongly modified version, not only to integrate better with my layout/design also to show the albums in my way and so on.

All you see in this page (/photography) is based in Plogger
Kr0n, your modification is simply awesome. If you are interested, I would like to offer you the chance to provide your design as a theme for the next version of Plogger. I know you have heavily modified Beta2.1 to accomplish this, but I think you can utilize our theme creation system in Beta3 to create this look exactly. Let me know what you think, we would consider packaging this theme with the next distribution.
As you may know, I heavily modified Beta2.1 not only to remove some things I wouldn't use (download feature, search feature) but to implement a template based system to separate logic and presentation layer. I sent you an e-mail talking a little bit about this, maybe for future versions or simply for information. Don't know if you receive it. In some way, my proposition of separate this two layers, simplifies things in a medium and long term. My idea was posting this in the forum for discuss, but I'm still waiting to have some time to do it ;)
About the theme and the chance, I really apreciate it and of course I'm interested in collaborate in any way with this great software, so we can continue this conversation by mail if you want ;)
I already send you an e-mail with this post to your plogger account.
This is my attempt to integrate manualy Plogger with Wordpress. The site is in Portuguese and the fotos were taken with a mobile phone. The integration was made using the old "copy & paste" of the header and footer of Wordpress placed in the index.php.
I was looking for a simple gallery. Before i was using Gallery1 and it was hard to entegrate to wordpress. Anyway in the weekdays i searched and looked for some examples that has entegrated to wordpress. Like Fgallery, zenphoto etc... Tried some of them bu no success or i didn't like the entegration.
So I've installed plogger today. I am using Hemingway theme on Wp 2.0.2 and it has dark background. After doing some modifications to index.php of plogger. It really integrates well. Now i've started to transfer some pictures to my new gallery. I like it very much.
You can check my new plogger gallery : http://www.alperorus.com/gallery/ Older gallery is on : http://www.alperorus.com/Gallery/
i think it is a little bit confusing, and the "too cool for IE thing paradoksally doesn't work properly in IE..
I would also like to post my gallery here, which is not to cool for either IE or FF, i personally think the integration of the gallery into the site went quite good, trying not to brag lol ;)
Thx for visiting and sharing your comments. I've done that especially for not to be working on IE. That's why it's name is "Too Cool For IE" :-) It has started a joke on the web for IE for not obeying web standarts. Anyway maybe i have to remove it for the visitors using IE from now on. It has been a long time using that little code.
Now i am looking for how many hits per image, to replace under "Show Details" part.
Haven't been to the site in awhile, waiting really for beta 3 to be finished, but thought I would drop by and see how people were doing with Plogger. Great to see many sites that use it and great examples. Nice work all.
Iam also gonna use plogger on my new portal mike, can you tell me any good designer for customising my site :) Also if i donate 25$ can i get listed on that page as well as can i remove the powered by link?
Next up will be migrating my 1000 picture Photo Gallery to Plogger. I'm going to try and wait for the next version though, because I really want tags. :)
Not sure who did http://www.mckellars.net/pics/, although I see it in my referrer logs all the time.
$25.00 donation entitles you to a linkback on the donation page (we get ~1000 visitors a day to the site). As far as removing the powered by link, that is your right under the GPL, but we appreciate the advertising as a show of support for the project.
macinchik, that is pretty sweet, completely unrecognizable as Plogger =) Large thumbnails seem to take a long time to load though...
