    I'm happy to support the plogger folks by leaving the link-back in place but would prefer that the page open in a new window. How would I go about that?

    Yes, but where exactly do I place the target="_blank"? Can I add it globally to a specif file location?

    plog-functions IIRC, depending on your install.
    I do not have the files in front of me today or in the coming days to show you exactly what and where you could change teh code to do what you want. find out what the code is on the page that generates it and trace it back to the functions section.
