    Has anybody figured out how to keep the thumbnails at the picture level?

    This would allow use of thumbnails as navigation, like in this example
    (I know this site uses flash, but I just want you to see the layout)

    Thanks Jack. That Flash implementation of plogger is great.

    I don't really want to complicate myself with Flash at the moment. I would really like to know if anybody figured out how to have a similar interface without using Flash (thumbs in one side of the screen, enlarged picture in the other).

    Look at NiceDay's "Plugger" thumbnail implementation; that should be what you want.
