    This can be done, but I'm just curious as to why you would want to use POST vs. GET. GET allows users to send direct links to what they searched for as well as lets Google Analytics and other stat scripts log what you're users are searching for on your site. Just wondering if you're only concern was the look of the URL or if you have another reason for doing this.
