    I find the information on your program just what I am looking for. I try to follow the instructions and download to my computer and extrack the files. well it gets to my computer ok. but when i go to extract it says 2 of the files already exists. so i continue and try to move the complete file to the host. all it says is they are all empty files. looks like it made the files but put nothing in them. any ideas? my host says if i like the program they will get with you to add it as an option for all there clients to use. i am so disgusted with coppermine and gallery with their lack of help that i had all their files deleted off my site. i hope i can get your to work for me. thanks for your help in advance.

    ok i do not think it should be done this way but i opened each file and copied them into a file. moved to host and tried to install now i get these errors.
    Warning: main(lib/gettext/streams.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: Not a directory in /home/mysorefi/public_html/plogger-1.0b3/plog-globals.php on line 23

    Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'lib/gettext/streams.php' (include_path='.:/usr/php4/lib/php:/usr/local/php4/lib/php') in /home/mysorefi/public_html/plogger-1.0b3/plog-globals.php on line 23

    looks like files are missing. a lot of the files were the same in both files within the main file. not sure why it does not work the way you say it will. your instructions are very easy to follow but did not work for me. i can delete and start over but i do not think that will do any good. i will wait and hear from you as to what to do. hope it is soon. thanks

    hugatree,

    What part of the install does not work? Are there any error messages that show up? We need a little more information before we can respond. Thanks.

    none of it. it is like it cannot find the install file. i even searched and found it. i cannot use http://www.yoursite.com/plogger/_install.php because install is not in the file of plogger. i tried trunk, and found that install was in a sub file of a subfile of trunk. i dirrecced it to the file i traced it to and it tells me *************** ok lol now i get something, lol and i did it the same way. i get 2 errors they are;
    ?The path /home/mysorefi/public_html/trunk/plog-content/images is not writable by the web server.
    ?The path /home/mysorefi/public_html/trunk/plog-content/thumbs is not writable by the web server.

    at least now we are getting somewhere and i feel we can get it fixed. just let me know what i need to do or to get my host to do. he said he would change what he needed to to be able to host plogger
    thanks for ur help

    Now you need to CHMOD the plog-content/images/ and plog-content/thumbs/ folders (most likely to 0777, which will require you to remporarily CHMOD the plog-content/ folder to 0777 during the install and then back to 0755 after it is done). To CHMOD folders, you will most likely be accessing through FTP or cPanel File Manager. If FTP (using an FTP client like FileZilla or SmartFTP, etc.), most of the time you can right-click the folder and go to CHMOD or "Edit Permissions" or something. If using cPanel, you will need to click the folder name (not the folder icon) and use the menu that pops up on the left to CHMOD the permissions. Once you have changed the permissions on those 3 folders, then run plog-admin/_install.php.

    We changed the installation a little to tighten up security on folder permissions to prevent hackers from using the folders as dump directories.
