    Hi,

I installed plogger some months ago and can't seem to login to the admin using http://sweettunes.co.uk/plogger/admin/

If it helps, I did change hosting company 3 weeks ago and haven't been able to login since.

    Thanks

of course, if you change hosting companies that means the database changed of server. So the database with your information is gone. The current code is going to the old database to the old browser and it is being rejected because there is nothing there, most probably. And thereby you cannot log into your account.

    No wonder.

I'm a friend of Chris' trying to help him figure out this problem. When he switched hosting companies all of his old information was moved over too, supposedly, and he can see the necessary database on his new server with the same settings as in the plog_config.php file. I don't know if there's actually any information in there or not. What would you guys recommend? Do you think it's for sure a database problem? Could it be a permissions thing? Should he reinstall a fresh version?

you can import your database easily and just change the settings,

If you don't know how to do this and want me to work for you just let me know.

    @chris_elevate and jessnoonyes -

I've just checked the link for both the admin and the public side of Chris' gallery (http://sweettunes.co.uk/plogger/), and am getting a '500-Internal Server Error' for both of them. However, when I go to just http://sweettunes.co.uk/, I am able to access your website, and can click on the Gallery link and see 4 albums and the image inside each of them without error.

The 500 error can be caused by a permissions issue - did you go from a host that was using php4 to one that uses php5 as default by any chance? If so, you may need to have them adjust the file ownership permissions.

It appears that you are able to connect to the database just fine, since the gallery shows up, so I don't believe there is a database issue.

With regard to not being able to login: Chris - what error message are you getting when you try and login? Invalid username or password error, or is it something else?
  3.
Yeah you're right Kimparsell, it's not a database issue becuase the image are loading in fine.

    The message I get is:

    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@sweettunes.co.uk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Chris -

You need to contact your webhost and tell them what is happening when you try and access the admin portion of your gallery. This sounds like a permissions issue, and that is something that they will need to correct.

    Chris,

Did you ever have the Cruft-Free URL option set up on your old site before the transfer? It may be that your .htaccess file for the mod_rewrite rules is causing the Internal Server Error since it it still set up for the old site? Perhaps your new host doesn't allow the use of .htaccess files? I'm just guessing about the issue now, but I don't think it to be a db error at the moment.

Also, I just noticed that looks like you're server has been hacked by a "Turkish Hacker" -> http://sweettunes.co.uk/plogger/admin/ You may want to look into that. Did you happen to add the Security Update posted to the forums? I hope that is not what happened, but it looks like you may need to change your logins, etc. anyway. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help out.
  4.
No I need to update the gallery to the latest version as I haven't done that.
Help with that would be great? Or a pointer in the right direction.

Yeah theat stupid turkish hacker got in to all my sites 6 months ago... I just uploaded everything again to get rid of him. I've uploaded a backup or plogger and it's got rid of it. Try it now.

I've managed to get http://sweettunes.co.uk/plogger/admin/ working and I had to follow the post listed on here to retrieve the username and password - so long since I created it I've forgotten!

http://www.kingofhosting.co.uk/timandkath/plogger/admin isn't working however. Can you list the files which need their permissions setting please?

    Admin folder 755
    Index 644
    plogger-upload 644
    etc

    Thanks
  5.
Right I think I've done it, Mike posted this a while ago:

You don't need to change the permissions of any files, just the folders -- ./images, ./thumbs, ./uploads and the root of your installation ./
Try changing them to 755 ... if that doesn't work you may have to change them to 777.

Which seems to have got it working.

What should all the files be set to? I don't want turkish hackers getting in again!
  6.
Oh any ideas why all the images are not displaying on http://www.kingofhosting.co.uk/timandkath/gallery.php ???

    Thanks
  7.
    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks

    chris,

It looks like the kingofhosting.co.uk site is trying to pull images from the sweettunes.co.uk site. Are you connecting to the right database? If so, check your Gallery URL in Admin -> Options to make sure it's pointing to the correct installation of Plogger.
