General Support: Password Didn't Take On Install

Well here I am, likely over my head, but trying to learn... I found the process rather easy from the start, but have hit a snag. Upon completing the install, Plogger is not accepting the username and password it issued me upon installing the gallery.

Upon successful completion of the install, I was given a prompt that said " Your username is admin and your password is `******` ". Of course, I've taken out the password on the post, unless it's defaulted to that on every install, in which case I'm an idiot.

Anyway, when I tried to login to /admin/index.php it keeps giving me the "invalid login" runaround.

So, I searched the forums and tried changing the password using PHPMyAdmin (as per instructions at http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=110 -- Thanks Mike), but was unable to complete that step as that process times out and states, "Application error - Rails application failed to start properly"

Now, I am at a loss altogether. Where to from here?
