Hi all, I really like plogger, its is easy and good to implant it in your site, i have used much systems before, and modified it, but i think this one, is still the best... so i have a wishlist for the next version...
- more user logins, so more users can upload there photo's (not public, but for friends ect...) - rate a photo, with stars... so guest and users can rate on a photo... - previeuw next photo... when i browse a photo, see a thumbinal above the next link. - private message, between members... really handy function, if you have multiple admins... - a little messenger like, chat program... (not so importent, but its cool)
With these global functions, we can use plogger, as a portal system, so not only gallery, because you can implant a forum in plogger easy... so not implant plogger in YOUR page, but intergrate your site in plogger ....
i anyone has other ideas... please response.. so the next release is fully loaded with new functions :)
If you would have read more posts ;) you would have read that: - next version will have multiple users - someonw already wrote a kind of plugin for a next previous image
Private message? I use e-mail for that :) Rate a photo? I hope users will use e-mail for that too ;)
Nevertheless, it's always good to know how people would like to use an album.
I love Plogger, i really do, the only thing that i am after now is watermarking capability, i know that someone wrote a plugin for this, and am waiting on tenderhooks for him to release the code for me to use. Only i'd like watermarking to be positional, as i write sites for local kids as portfolio's for their artwork.
Other than that i congratulate you guys on a great, easily customizable, very practical, useable piece of software. Plus your support is ace too!
Really liking this script. I thought I'd contribute a few things in my wishlist:
- Sorting. Would be nice to be able to sort albums/collections from the admin.
- Renaming. Would be nice to rename filenames from the admin. Including extensions.
- Ratings. Like someone mentioned above, a simple 5-star rating system would be nice.
- Limit downloads. I like the download function but it would be nice if it was limited to some albums. I've got a lot of high quality/large images. Bandwidth would run up pretty quick if lots of people just checked one box and downloaded my entire gallery in one shot.
- Show Details. I like the options in show details but would also like a simple option. Maybe a default setting where the file size and resolution is shown without clicking Show Details. While the current Show Details with all the other info can be switched on/off in the admin.
- In the gallery where the filename appears under the image, I would like to see an option to either display the image filename (as it is now), the image caption or image resolution in that spot.
- Comment moderation. Unless I'm missing something, comments go live right away. I'd like a setting where admin is notified and can approve/deny it. This will help cut down on spam and people that just leave useless comments.
- User upload function. A simple public upload section (with perhaps a set-password option) where uploaded images are placed in a folder within the upload folder awaiting to be imported if approved or deleted if denied. I'd like to see a delete button next to "Import"
Anyway, that's all I can think of at the moment. I found Plogger by accident really after playing with (and getting frustrated by) some of the other bloated scripts. I loved its simplicity and ease of plugging it into an existing layout. The auto-thumbnailer was also nice. These are the reasons I've been putting off putting up a gallery for quite a while. Then along comes Plogger and I get something up in less than an hour. lol. Thanks for all your hard work. Please keep it up.
i'd also like to see some of the features above... namely, file renaming, rating system, and sort albums/pics by most viewed. thanks for all your hard work! :) i've used a few other albums in the past and this seems to be the easiest to use and most functional one i've used so far.
