this may be a bizarre question but having filename extension (.jpg) at the "permalink" of the images messes up the mod_rewrite i have at the .htaccess.
my rewrite stops people from hotlinking & typing in the image's url. so if someone types in the url of an image, it redirects them to the front page. however, since plogger adds the .jpg in the cruft-free urls, people now can access the images whole url. i don't want that. so i unchecked the cruft-free url, which solves the problem.
however, unchecking the cruft-free url, invalidates my plogger site, which gets on my nerves. i want the cruft-free url but i don't want people accessing my images using the whole url. is there something i can tweak in the files so that the cruft-free urls won't have the file extension? sort-of like wordpress permalinks, they don't have the .htm
Just a wee point of note - maybe this wouldn't work for users of Firefox? I believe you usually see the whole URL in that or, at least, if you actively want to see the whole URL of an image, you can do it pretty easily in Firefox.
