Hey guys, our Sysadmin Ryan Duff upgraded Vanilla to the latest version today and I've been going crazy installing new extensions. Here are some of the new features of the forum...

    • Ads are gone for registered users (only guests will see them now)
    • There are RSS feeds for everything now
    • You can attach binary files to your posts
    • There is a nice "live AJAX search" on the left
    • You can thank other users by clicking the "thank" link on the upper right side of a comment
    • You can quote other users comments by using the "quote" link

Possibly some other stuff coming too, I'm still going through all the available extensions =)
    Thankful People: Ben, kimparsell, andros69

I think you're already using some of them, but you might want to check out some of the others as well. These all seem to "play well" together.

Which quote extension are you using? I still need to find one for my forum.
    Thankful People: Ben

The quotations extension I am using is "Quotations 1.6" from http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/2069/

The only extension I am finding that doesn't play too well with others is the Friendly URL's extension. It makes the URL's all pretty, but some extensions, such as Who's Online and the LiveSearch seems to be trying to hit the old style crufty URL's and are having problems.

Yea, I tried installing the Friendly URL's extension, and never could get it to work right. I use the Page Manager extension to add a couple of pages to the forum, and the friendly url's didn't work well with that one either. I gave up and just live with the actual ones that Vanilla puts out.

Thanks for the heads up on the quote extension. Will have to get that one and set it up on mine.
