I've looked around for HOURS to find a fix because I don't like asking what's been already asked. Needless to say, I can't find anything.

I was using plogger 2.1 but found one too many things I wanted to change, that when I search for them all I could find were things implemented on the so-called Beta 3. So I said, hey let's try Beta 3. So I went ahead and deleted my 2.1 and its Database.

Then I get Beta 3 from some svn or whatever it's called. I upload the files though FTP, I CHMOD them all 777, I proceed to install and it installs!

However it says " your username is admin and your password **** ".

So I go to use those credentials for my login page, but I get Invalid Login messages to no end. I even went to phpMyAdmin and changed the hash to a really simple password by following instructions in another topic.

    Still get Invalid Login.

I don't know what to do, I want to use Beta 3 as soon as possible.

Oh another thing, what can I do to delete the 'images' folder (and subfolders) in my plogger? I can't delete it through my host's File Manager nor my FTP client.

Nothing? Come on, at least tell me how to delete the 'images' folder, I never uploeaded anything yet it won't delete because "Directoy not empty", yet I can't delete the files inside because it says "Permission Denied".

(And, yes I'm the owner of the account)

You should be able to delete the folder by changing the owner, try looking into the unix CHOWN command. Unfortunately, you may need to contact your ISP to get it deleted because of the restrictions placed on some shared hosting accounts. As for the login, I'm sorry you couldn't get it in but it sounds like you may have put in your password wrong. I've never got that error before so I can't say I know what is wrong.

You'd probably get more responses in an open-source forum by turning down the tone of entitlement in your questions.

    Good luck.

It's weird. I've installed it several times, trying out new passwords by deleting the ones created automatically in phpAdmin, as well as simply copying/pasting the user/pass info sent to my e-mail after installation. It simply refuses to work.

The previous version of Plogger (2.1) worked, so I see no logic in this happening in Beta 3, but I guess I'll move on to a different gallery script. I really liked and wanted to use Plogger though, keep up the good work, maybe a few versions into the future I'll be allow to experience its full potential.

As for the removing of folders, I'll contact my host then, thanks for your time.

I' have also had this problem. I had 2.1 installed (although.. not functioning properly) and decided to try the current dev release of Plogger3. I installed it, gave the database information, and it gave me my username and password, which i received an Invalid login when usign those credentials. I decided to delete the Plogger SQL databse, so that it can recreate it. All behold that fixed my problem and i was able to login once again.

I too had this problem. I loaded Beta 3 over v2.1 and ran the upgrade script. I was given a new password but this did not work, when logging on an error message occurred. The message referred to line 8 (or was it 10) of a script, I thought that I had saved a copy but cannot find it at the moment.

I deleted both the Mysql database and all the Plogger scripts and did fresh install of Beta 3. It now works OK.

When I cleared the Plogger scripts using FTP, I could not delete the image folders and files. I got a permission denied message. I got my host to enable SSH and tried to delete the folders and files using the program puTTy, but this gave the same result. My host offered to change the permissions for me, but by then I had used Beta 3 to do it.

I recreated exactly the collection and album names which I had used before. I then deleted them, though Beta 3 reported that it could not delete the folders as they still had files in them. However it did set the permissions such that I could delete them using my FTP program.

It seems that if a folder or files are created using a php script it needs a php script to get rid of them. Perhaps Plogger needs a standalone cleanup php script for such occasions, I hate the prospect of megabytes of images I cannot remove if thing go wrong. Going back to the host is both time consuming and potentially prone to errors.
