I seem to be running into some difficulty with large thumbnails. I have been uploading pictures (JPG) to Plogger, and then using the Import mechanism. The JPG files that I am uploading contain full EXIF information.
Once an import is complete, Plogger will create large and small thumbnails for each image. It appears, however, that the large thumbnail (that seems to be used on the full picture page) loses the EXIF information. This makes the "Show Details" section mostly blank, and changes the date to default to date uploaded.
If I make my own thumbnails locally, or upload smaller resolution images (so that there is no need for a large thumbnail), then the EXIF details show correctly.
Am I doing something wrong, or does the thumbnail process just lose EXIF data?
So doing some more research, it looks like the EXIF data is stored in the database, and not dynamically read from the thumbnails as I first suspected.
Still, I'm at a loss as to why most of my images don't have EXIF data displayed for them. This wouldn't bother me, as I could just remove the "Show Details" link from the code, but it throws off the date (which I do want to display).
I will try opening and saving the images with my image editing software...possibly doing that is triggering a change in the EXIF that is allowing Plogger to display information for the ones I've manually cropped and rotated.
